The tool can strip the outer Fiber jacket from the interior buffer coating and 250-micron coating down to the glass fiber without nicks or scratches.

Stripping is the act of removing the protective polymer coating around optical Fiber in preparation for fusion splicing. The splicing process begins by preparing both fiber ends for fusion, which requires that all protective coating is removed or stripped.

Application:

• Installation: Stripping is a necessary step during the installation of fiber optic cables. The protective coating must be removed from both ends of the cable before connecting it to the network.
